Data Collection

The most common data a school system or education organization might want to analyze are typically provided either in a report from the state department of education, or through preset reporting tools. However, there are many data points an educator may wish to review which are not provided in an accessible format. Instructional Data Solutions creates data collection mechanisms which simplify data analysis and maximize functionality through linked reporting systems. 

Data Strategy Development

We partner with education organizations to design a customized and comprehensive data strategy that unifies an organization’s essential data into a coherent, actionable ecosystem. This typically includes a detailed discovery process of current data sources, workflows, and reporting needs. Using these insights, IDS identifies system redundancies, gaps in outcome measurement, opportunities to strengthen alignment across the organization, opportunities to streamline data collection, strengthen internal decision-making, and elevate impact storytelling.

Early-Childhood-Clock-Hour-Credit-Tracker

This file collects early childhood clock hour credits when staff complete simple forms (sample) from their computers or cell phones. Files are automatically renamed and placed in folders by teacher. See a summary by teacher on the Admin tab, or a detail of all trainings submitted on the All Trainings tab. Easily print session attendance rosters or merge files by teacher using the designated tabs. A Public View space is also provided to enable staff to get a real-time view of hours collected to date on demand.

Custom Data Collection Tools

IDS specializes in creating custom data collection templates and tools across a variety of platforms (Azure SQL, Excel, Google Sheets, Retool, etc.). These tools can be used by educators in the field to capture data as needed. Data collection tools feature user-friendly designs for the collection and roll-up of key data points into existing or new reporting spaces and dashboards. Efficient design of the collection and reporting process allows leadership team members to analyze results in real-time as new data is collected, minimizing response time and enabling rapid targeted support.
